Biography

Quintez Brown was a Louisville journalist, community activist, and city-council candidate who fired six shots at mayoral candidate Craig Greenberg inside Greenberg’s campaign office on February 14, 2022. Greenberg and four staff members escaped physical injury, although one shot grazed Greenberg’s sweater. Brown was arrested shortly afterward and released on bond two days later. Federal authorities rearrested him in April 2022. In his federal guilty plea, Brown admitted that he acted because Greenberg was running for mayor. He pleaded guilty to interfering with a federally protected activity and discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. On January 24, 2025, he was sentenced to seventeen years and six months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.
