Biography

Peter Thanos was arrested during a second raid on labor and Communist offices in Scranton, Pennsylvania in July 1930. The Daily Worker of July8 reports that unlike five organizers facing sedition accusations, these three were not charged with sedition and were released. The exact arrest and release days and any other charge are unestablished.

The July 4 Scranton dispatch, printing Peter Thanot, dates the second office raid to the previous day, July 3, 1930, names Thanos among those arrested, and says they were ordered to leave town. The later July 8 report supplies release without sedition charges. A leave-town order is not treated as executed exile or discharge.
