Biography

Pete Wagner was a defendant in the Washington County, Pennsylvania mine-strike prosecution. The August 28, 1931 Daily Worker reports his testimony that he was at a doctor's office and the German Beneficial Society Club in Canonsburg rather than at the Curry Field confrontation. It names several witnesses corroborating his account and describes conflicting prosecution testimony. This is a contemporary defense report, not an independent verdict; no exact arrest, sentence, release or served duration is established.
