Biography

Paul Peters was identified as a playwright and reporter working for Fortune and Time in a July 9, 1936 McKeesport dispatch. He and his colleague were taken to police headquarters for questioning while photographing workers leaving National Tube Company, a U.S. Steel subsidiary. Police invoked a city ordinance against soliciting or canvassing photographs without a permit. Both were released and left town. The report links the incident to steel organizing coverage but supplies no exact detention length, formal charge or judgment. The printed name is retained without an unsupported expanded identity.
