Biography
Paul Manko was a member of the Communist Party from New York City. Paul Manko served a sentence in Sing Sing State Penitentiary, where he went insane. He was pardoned by Governor Smith.
1920s custody-date review: Release after Governor Smith's pardon is documented in February 1923; the exact day remains unresolved. This was a New York State criminal-anarchy case, not the generic federal Espionage/Sedition charge previously displayed.

1920s date review: The National Defense Committee account explicitly dates Paul Manko's arrest to June 1920. The exact day and initial incarceration date remain unknown. The 1922 pamphlet is consulted in its modern transcription, page 3; its editorial footnote identifies Paul Manko. This is not the separate deportee Pavel Manko. Trial and sentencing are not substituted for admission dates.
