Biography
Pablo "Yoruba" Guzmán was Minister of Information of the New York Young Lords and was arrested in the group's 1969–70 direct actions, including the occupation of the First Spanish Methodist Church in East Harlem and the takeover of Lincoln Hospital. He later became an Emmy-winning New York broadcast journalist.
The Young Lords’ 1971 Palante chronology separately dated Pablo “Yoruba” Guzmán’s contempt arrest after the People’s Church occupation to January 10, 1970, and a weapon-possession arrest following the Lincoln Hospital takeover to July 14, 1970. It did not report physical admission or actual release dates for either episode.
