Biography

Otho Grayson Bell was a U.S. Army corporal from Olympia, Washington, and one of 21 American Korean War prisoners who refused repatriation. He crossed into China on February 24, 1954 and was assigned to a collective farm with William Cowart and Lewis Griggs. The three returned to the United States in July 1955. Authorities arrested them on arrival but released them after determining that their dishonorable discharges had ended military jurisdiction.
