Biography

Myrtle Taylor was arrested when Phoenix police attacked a demonstration for increased unemployment relief on September 6, 1934. The Daily Worker of September 8, 1934, page 3, names her and Clay Naff among those seized at the demonstration and separately reports twenty-two arrests in a later raid on the Workers’ Center. It does not identify Taylor’s formal charge, sentence, eventual release or length of custody. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n216-sep-08-1934-DW-LOC.pdf
