Biography

Morris Silver was a Bronx grocery-union picket whom the August 15, 1928 Daily Worker individually names among workers beaten and arrested by 22nd Precinct police on Bathgate Avenue. The Retail Grocery, Fruit and Dairy Clerks Union protested to Police Commissioner Warren. The report gives a $2 fine for Morris Silver but no exact arrest day, statutory charge, physical release or complete custody duration. The fine is not counted as a prison term served.
