Biography

Miguel Ángel Ruiz Alicea was one of six Mayagüez nationalist cadets whom Dávila Marichal identifies as convicted for refusing United States military service and sent to Tallahassee prison in Florida. The source places the arrests in 1948 and gives an imposed term of one year and one day. It records him free in March 1950. The imposed sentence is not counted as measured time served. The source’s anachronistic Korean War explanation is not adopted.
