Biography

Martin Simich (Martin Simmich in the court opinion) was a Zeigler, Illinois miner prosecuted after the August 1925 union-hall violence. A jury found him guilty, but his new-trial motion was granted and the case against him was subsequently dismissed. Individual custody endpoints remain unresolved.

1920s custody review: People v. Corbishly, 327 Ill. 312 (1927), paragraph 2, records Martin Simmich separately: a new trial was granted and his case later dismissed.
