Biography

Martin Russak was the New Bedford district organizer of the National Textile Workers Union arrested at the Beacon Mill gate in New Bedford on December 30, 1929. A December 31 dispatch printed January 2 describes police attacking the anti-speedup meeting and charging both organizers with trespassing because they spoke from a railroad embankment. It explicitly reports release on $200 bail, without stating the physical discharge day or the later trial outcome.
