Biography
Mariam Muhammed Odeh is one of eight Palestine-solidarity activists federally indicted in May 2026 over a University of Michigan divestment campaign. The indictment, unsealed June 10, accuses the group of conspiring to transmit threats against university officials, law-enforcement officials, businesses, and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit through protests, messages, and property damage. Civil-rights advocates argued that the charging document blurred alleged unlawful acts with protected political speech. The charges remain allegations, and the federal case is pending.
