Biography

Mansfield Robinson was one of three unemployed workers arrested after deputies attacked participants in a May 28, 1934 McKeesport constable-sale protest. Two were released at the station, while Robinson was jailed after protesting the beating. Alderman Geary dismissed his case on May 31 after moving the hearing with fifteen minutes’ notice, when ILD attorney Sylvia Schlessinger was unavailable. The report does not explicitly date his physical discharge or measure complete custody. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n136-jun-07-1934-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3
