Biography

Maher Mofeid “Mike” Hawash was an Intel employee detained in Oregon as a federal grand-jury material witness in March 2003. Portland Copwatch reported protests over his detention. An April 7 district-court order confirms his March 20 arrest, continued custody after a March 21 hearing, and further detention. Final discharge and total confinement are not established here.

Verified detention and limits

The court record establishes confinement lasting beyond an overnight stay. April 25 was a testimony deadline and April 29 a future hearing, not releases. This record concerns material-witness detention, not proof of a later criminal conviction or sentence.
