Biography

Lux Claridge is an Emporia high-school physics teacher who opposed a proposed data center. Police arrested them at a city commission meeting on July 22, 2026, after they applauded a speaker. Claridge was booked into Lyon County Jail on disorderly conduct and interference charges, then released on bail. Reporting later documented dismissal without prejudice of the case. The arrest raised concerns about the right to express support for criticism of local government at public meetings.
