Biography

Luka Skako was a Communist worker in Portland, Oregon. The February 16, 1931 Daily Worker reports that, while already on $3,000 bail for a Communist-membership prosecution, he was arrested during the February 10 unemployment demonstration for selling the pamphlet of William Z. Foster’s testimony before the Fish Committee. Taken to the police station, he was released within a few hours without charges after the crowd demanded his release. The two proceedings are kept separate; no prison term or days-long duration is inferred. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1931/v08-n041-NY-feb-16-1931-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3
