Biography

Louise Reese worked in the Birmingham office of the American Federation of Labor rank-and-file committee. The Daily Worker of December 8, 1934, page 5, reports that detectives Moser and Cole had raided the office several weeks earlier looking for Communist literature, arrested Reese, fingerprinted her and released her. It also describes a subsequent visit and warning by two White Legion members accompanied by a policeman. The raid detention is documented separately from the later questioning; no exact arrest day, formal charge, sentence or actual duration is supplied.
