Biography

Lenora Warneson was a Missouri teacher and Federation for Democratic Control antiwar speaker. She retained her maiden name after marrying Raymond Moore. Authorities rearrested her on June 27, 1917 over an anticonscription meeting in Topeka. Convicted in the Missouri conspiracy prosecution, she received a fine rather than a prison sentence. A 1919 account describes a later threat to jail her for nonpayment that was withdrawn after attorney Caroline Lowe intervened.
