Biography

Lawrence Young was arrested during a second raid on labor and Communist offices in Scranton, Pennsylvania in July 1930. The Daily Worker of July8 reports that unlike five organizers facing sedition accusations, these three were not charged with sedition and were released. The exact arrest and release days and any other charge are unestablished.

The July 4 Scranton dispatch places Young in the second labor-office raid the previous day, July 3, 1930, with Peter Thanos and John Little, and says they were ordered to leave town. The later July 8 report supplies release without sedition charges. The order is not encoded as physical exile or discharge.
