Biography

Larry West was a California prisoner who collaborated with Ruchell Magee on legal research. The June 29, 1971 Free Angela newsletter describes him as a fellow inmate and says he was transferred to Folsom Prison two days after press coverage portrayed him as Magee legal brain. West responded that he knew some law but that Magee knew more. The defense newsletter presents the transfer as selective retaliation for legal collaboration. His underlying offense, sentence, precise original admission and physical discharge are not supplied; the transfer belongs to existing prison custody, not a fresh arrest. Printed Larry is not expanded to Lawrence. Source: https://www.bibliotechecivichepadova.it/sites/default/files/opera/documenti/sezione-6-serie-10-273.pdf#page=2
