Biography

Kramer, identified only by surname as a Steel Workers Organizing Committee organizer, was picked up by Holiday’s Cove police and taken to the mayor for threats during a 1936 Weirton organizing visit. Later, eight men, three identified by the union as Railway Audit and Inspection operatives, removed him from his Steubenville, Ohio hotel and took him to a train. These are two coercive stages in the same organizing incident, not proof of a judicial conviction. Exact dates and duration are unprinted; he is not merged with the earlier Kansas City prisoner L. Kramer. New Masses, August 11, 1936, original PDF page 15. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/new-masses/1936/v20n07-aug-11-1936-NM.pdf#page=15
