Biography
Kevin Sparrock was a Marine reservist, freelance artist and School of Visual Arts student who resisted the Persian Gulf War. Contemporary coverage reported that he faced a wartime desertion charge. Later reports gave his sentence as six months, and Jeff Paterson listed him among those released from Camp Lejeune by January 1992.
The conscientious-objector submission reproduced in the 2001 Cox Commission materials names Kevin Sparrock among twenty-six Gulf War conscientious objectors imprisoned at Camp Lejeune and reports a prosecution request for the death penalty for wartime desertion. A requested punishment is distinct from the eventual disposition; no new admission or release day is established.
