Biography
Kenneth Osthimer, also spelled Ostheimer, was an Unemployed Council organizer arrested on the picket line during the May 1934 Toledo Auto-Lite strike. Sheriff Krieger arrested him after union business agent Thomas Ramsey pointed him out. He was prosecuted with other strikers and supporters for violating Judge Roy Stuart’s injunction against mass picketing. International Labor Defense attorney Edward Lamb represented him. Testifying in court, Osthimer defended cooperation between employed and unemployed workers and denounced the injunction and the police violence against the strike.
