Biography

Julius Soich was a Western Pennsylvania coal-strike prisoner supported by the International Labor Defense. The January 1932 winter-aid roster names him under Wildwood Cases, a prosecution-group heading rather than a prison. The November 24, 1931 Daily Worker lists Soich among the sentenced mine-strike prisoners then at Blawnox. The rosters do not establish his individual statutory charge, exact admission or release, nominal sentence or completed custody total. The November 24, 1931 Daily Worker names Soich among the miners-strike prisoners then serving sentences at Blawnox. The January 1932 Labor Defender winter-aid roster supplies the fuller name Julius Soich under Wildwood Cases alongside Tom Myerscough, Bob Young and Helen Preselic, also found in the earlier Blawnox roster. Wildwood Cases is a prosecution-group heading, not the name of a prison; the inherited Wildwood institution assignment has therefore been removed. These rosters establish prisoner status and the earlier Blawnox observation, but do not independently establish an individual sedition count, exact admission or release, nominal term or completed duration. The January1932 Labor Defender Winter Aid roster places Julius Soich under “Wildwood Cases.” This is a case-group heading, not the name of a prison. The roster confirms the ILD supported this person as a prisoner but does not establish a particular institution, offense, admission/release date, or actual duration. The inherited biography/case institution should not be attributed to this heading alone.
