Biography
Julius White Cornell Jr. was a member of the Winston-Salem National Committee to Combat Fascism and Black Panther Party chapter. Police arrested Cornell and chapter coordinator Larry Little on January 14, 1971, two days after the “meat-truck” raid that led to Grady Fuller’s arrest. Cornell was charged as an accessory after the fact. After litigation over discriminatory jury selection, Cornell pleaded no contest to misdemeanor larceny on March 19, 1973. The court imposed a six-month jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered him to pay $133; the record reviewed does not establish any served jail term.
