Biography

Joseph Spencer was arrested at the Schweinler Press on Saturday, May 18, 1929 and rearrested there on May 20. The report describes police beating him and says Spencer and a companion from the second arrest were subsequently released on bail. The first release is not dated, so the two arrests are separate custody phases without an invented continuous May 18–20 total.
