Biography
Jon Seward was a Nevada Test Site backcountry protester who had been jailed continuously since his October 15, 1986 arrest after refusing to post $500 bond. He and Mike Geare were acquitted December 4 because the site was inadequately posted and they had not been given an opportunity to leave. The December issue also affirmatively lists Seward as recently out, establishing release in 1986 but not its exact day. The acquittal day is not silently substituted for physical discharge; no October 15-to-December 4 completed counter is calculated.
