Biography

John Laure was one of seven paper-box strikers arrested while eating in a restaurant at Hester and Allan Streets on Monday night, March 5, 1928. The March 8 Daily Worker individually lists the workers and reports actual release on $500 bail the previous day, March 7, on felonious-assault allegations. This is two elapsed calendar days of initial detention, without treating the future Tombs Court hearing as further custody or implying conviction.
