Biography

John Kimbler was a Kentucky miner prosecuted under the criminal-syndicalism law during the Harlan coalfield struggle. The September 29, 1931 dispatch published September 30 reports that he had actually been held three months, was released with an order to leave the mine fields, and was rearrested on criminal-syndicalism accusations because he did not leave in time. The three months describes the completed first stay; the second arrest is separately recorded with an unknown duration. Exact admission, release and rearrest days are not supplied.
