Biography

Marshall identifies Robinson as a Philadelphian arrested at Sandusky, Ohio on September 20, 1864, apparently on suspicion of involvement in the Lake Erie raid. The account follows his confinement on USS Michigan, at Johnson's Island and Cleveland jails, and finally at Fort Lafayette. It records unconditional release on February 9, 1866 without trial or a specified charge, and notes that authorities later described him as a witness without identifying the case. Source: John A.
