Biography

John Della Monica led the International Labor Defense in Utica, New York. He and four other unemployed workers were prosecuted after a demonstration demanding relief. Their December 1932 trial resulted in convictions, and Della Monica and Communist organizer Peter Kraus received sentences of one and a half to three years at Auburn State Prison. The International Labor Defense appealed the convictions and sought a new trial.
