Biography

John Brown was a Black soldier held at Fort Dix while awaiting proceedings for an alleged two-year absence without leave. During that confinement he helped organize the Black Liberation Party. Its newspaper statement says he was placed in a cage and then the post stockade on September11,1969 on a disrespect-to-an-officer charge after protesting racist treatment. The two years describe alleged AWOL absence rather than time imprisoned. No final release or imposed term is supplied.
