Biography
The March 1973 Attica News describes Jiri Newport, called O.J., as a prisoner in Attica HBZ or A-block segregation who was allegedly beaten in an elevator in early 1972 while returning from an interview with the McKay Commission. The article says brothers witnessed wounds to the left side of his head and describes the subsequent federal contempt hearings as ongoing. The political-retaliation and actual-confinement context is explicit, while the underlying conviction, first admission, final outcome and complete custody duration are unprinted.
