Biography
Jesús González was one of the Mexican revolutionaries convicted in the 1913 Rangel-Cline case in Texas, captured with the party crossing to join the Mexican Revolution and imprisoned at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville until the group's 1926 pardon.
The June 1925 labor-press political-prisoner birthday notice lists him at the Senior Farm, Dewalt, Brazoria County, Texas — a state prison farm — under prisoner number 36458, with a June 30 birthday (no birth year is given), still imprisoned twelve years after the Rangel-Cline convictions.
The International Labor Defense holiday roster in the December 29, 1925 Daily Worker lists this prisoner, printed as Jesus Gonzales, at Brazoria County Farm Dewalt Texas. Its printed identifier is 36458; this is a prison number or mailing designation, not a year or a custody date. This documents confinement at the roster’s reporting time, without establishing an admission, transfer, release, new conviction or complete duration. 1920s custody review: Released in August1926 following a full pardon by Governor MiriamA.Ferguson. The August24,1926 DailyWorker names all six freed men, including this prisoner. An August21dispatch separately discusses the pardon and threatened rearrest. The evidence supports August, not an exact physical-release day; neither the publication day nor the pardon announcement is used as that day.

In a first-person letter from Huntsville printed in the September 1926 Labor Defender, Jesus Gonzales states his birth date as December 24, 1886. The letter was written during imprisonment and published later; its issue date does not override the separately documented August 1926 release. No new custody date or duration is inferred.
Printed Jesus Gonzales, the signed May 30 letter gives Huntsville, Texas, Box 32, says he shared quarters with Rangel, and describes a recent illness and recovery. The birthday-relief list elsewhere locates Jesus Gonzales at Dewalt, a source-location difference retained without inventing a transfer day. A receipt for five dollars establishes support received, not a new conviction or release.
