Jason Watson
Biography
Jason P. Watson is a U.S. Air Force major held in pretrial confinement while facing military charges arising from his public criticism of President Donald Trump. He was arrested after protesting in uniform on the U.S. Capitol steps on July 1, 2026, calling for Trump’s impeachment and removal. The Air Force ordered him into pretrial confinement on August 18, after another public interview. Prosecutors preferred ten specifications under the Uniform Code of Military Justice on August 24. An Article 32 preliminary hearing took place on September 18. In October, his attorney said he remained in solitary confinement around the clock. Watson maintains that he acted to uphold his constitutional oath. He is presumed innocent; no conviction or sentence is recorded.
