Biography

The July 22 issue reports arrest at the Friday July 19, 1929 demonstration outside the Nanking consulate, 13 Astor Place, New York, opposing action against the Soviet Union. The case was heard by Magistrate Hyman Bushel with ILD attorney Jacques Buitenkant defending. Identified as the Chinese student and a member of the Alliance for Support of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Revolution. Reports agree he was dismissed/released; the issue also prints Mo. No precise physical release day is established. The issue contains inconsistent counts and disposition lists across pages 1 and 5; those conflicts are preserved without manufacturing a final discharge date or full original custody total.
