Biography

Jacob Kenison was a Utah animal-rights activist associated with Straight Edge. His prosecutions included a June 1995 leather-store fire and a separate federal firearm-purchase offense. Contemporary reporting gave sentences of one year in jail and 16 months in federal prison, respectively.

A third prosecution concerned mink releases at two farms. In 1998 he received nine months in jail and probation. Following a 2000 probation violation, the court imposed a prison term; the Utah Court of Appeals reversed and required misdemeanor resentencing.
