Biography
J. H. Powell was arrested in Bessemer, Alabama after a bombing at a deputy’s home amid the miners’ strike, according to the July 3 report. The newspaper disputes the prosecution’s account. No exact arrest day, adjudication, physical release or complete custody total is established; he is not automatically merged with other Powell prisoners. Daily Worker, July 3, 1934, page 3.
