Biography
Isaiah Rowley was a Jersey City Panther held in Hudson County Jail before trial over an alleged police-station attack. The Party challenged the prosecution and prolonged pretrial detention.
The August 2, 1969 Black Panther identifies Isaiah Rowley, Charles Hicks and Victor Perez as Jersey City Panthers held in Hudson County Jail since December 2, 1968. It disputes police testimony about an alleged November 29, 1968 Greenville precinct attack and treats their confinement as political repression. The December 2 date conflicts with the existing December 5 arrest date; this contemporary Party account is preserved without silently replacing that date or supplying an unreported release or complete custody duration.
