Biography

Ike Robinson was an American Federation of Labor organizer and state representative in Alabama. During the September 1934 general textile strike he was among ten people arrested at Russellville. A contemporary report states that he was fired upon and warned to leave the state. Robinson also helped secure cooperation from Birmingham laundry owners in negotiations with organized laundry workers.

The strike-terror inventory names the AFL organizer among ten arrested at Russellville and reports shots fired at him and an order to leave Alabama. This corroborates his September 1934 textile-strike arrest, without a new personal day, prison intake or disposition.
