Biography

Howard Scroggins was a Sailors’ Union of the Pacific member arrested in the Linnton Standard Oil bombing prosecution during the 1935 tanker strike. The July 26 Voice of the Federation names him with Joseph O’Brien and Edwin Michalski and reports that Judge Crawford refused to quash his indictment. The October 31 issue describes him on trial and refers to an earlier acquittal in a separate proceeding. These reports do not establish an exact booking, final disposition, release date or completed custody total.
