Biography
Herman Whitfield was arrested in June 1970 on a deadly-weapon charge concerning a bracelet with metal ornaments. The chronology also names him among defendants reindicted in February 1971 after a judge quashed an earlier grand-jury indictment. Reindictment is not treated as a second proven arrest. The United Front of Cairo chronology presents these prosecutions as part of racist repression of Black community organizing.
