Biography

Harold Swanson was a Minneapolis worker associated with the Local 544-CIO and WPA labor milieu. He was indicted with twenty-eight other unionists and Socialist Workers Party associates on July 15, 1941 and was among the five defendants acquitted by the jury on both counts. This is the Minneapolis defendant of 1941, a different person from the Harold Swanson prosecuted in the 1968 Presidio 27 military case. On December 1, 1941, the jury acquitted him on both counts.
