Biography

Gross Misheff, identified as editor of a Bulgarian Communist newspaper, was beaten by police and jailed for sixty days after leading a Detroit demonstration against a segregated restaurant, according to the March 23, 1931 Daily Worker. It names fellow Communist section organizer Steve Cojeron in the same episode and announces that both would speak at March 28 and 29 welcome-back meetings. The notices do not establish the precise arrest day or physical discharge day. The given name and surname are retained exactly as printed.
