Biography
Gerald Vincent Hoy was a Pennsylvania computer scientist involved in the Irish-American support movement. He pleaded guilty to two conspiracy counts in the Boston weapons-technology prosecution and received a two-year federal prison sentence. The official BOP locator matches his full name and register number 17480-038 and records that he was no longer in BOP custody as of June 20, 1992. His individual arrest, prison admission and sentencing days remain unverified; a co-defendant's date is not assigned to him.
Individual dates distinguished from co-defendants
The original Justice Department clemency report for Richard Clark Johnson identifies Hoy in footnote 1 as pleading guilty to two conspiracy counts and receiving 24 months. Its August 20, 1990 date belongs to Johnson, not Hoy, and is not imported as Hoy's sentencing day. Original defense material likewise describes Johnson's July 12, 1989 incident, not Hoy's individual arrest. The previously entered July 12 day remains an unverified claim, removed from structured dates; neither that account nor the three-person arrest report establishes Hoy's custody continuity. The derived 1,074-day total is removed rather than represented as actual time served. Original National Archives file, physical page 69, footnote 1; Original defense leaflet, page 2; Contemporary three-person arrest report.
Ordinary official locator search matches GERALD VINCENT HOY, register 17480-038, and states 'Not in BOP Custody as of: 06/20/1992'. The existing June 20 endpoint is independently corroborated as release from BOP custody only. It does not establish termination of parole or other custody. Missing admission and individual sentence dates remain blank; no date is calculated by subtracting the sentence from release. BOP locator, 17480-038; Official record limitations.
