Biography
George Papcum, also printed Papcun, was a Young Workers League organizer born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The January 27, 1926 Daily Worker reports his actual arrest at Republic in Fayette County during a Lenin memorial meeting and a threat of deportation despite his reported United States birthplace. The threat is not an executed removal. The issue does not supply a formal statutory charge, physical release or measured detention. The February 11 International Labor Defense report, printing Papcun, describes defense of his Republic arrest for urging miners to join the union and advocating a labor party. This supplies organizing context for the Republic arrest already reported in January, without establishing another arrest, release or completed duration.
