Biography

George Neiber was an organizer of the Marine Workers Industrial Union. The Daily Worker of December 8, 1934, page 4, reports from Toledo on December 7 that his trial with four other workers for obtaining food under false pretenses was again postponed until the following week. The article attributes the repeated delays to a packed courtroom and claims that available jurors were members of unemployed organizations or otherwise considered prejudiced. It supplies no exact arrest day, individual jail, verdict, sentence or release. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n293-Nat-dec-08-DW-LOC.pdf
