Biography
George Cratz was a union miner imprisoned at Moundsville following the July 17, 1922 Cliftonville mine battle during the coal strike. A September 17, 1926 Moundsville dispatch individually names him among five prisoners just released on parole. The account distinguishes those released from Joe Tracz, who remained in prison. It gives collective sentence ranges for the wider cohort but does not establish this miner’s individual imposed term, exact arrest or admission, actual parole day or full duration. The name follows the enlarged original scan. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1926/1926-ny/v03-n211-Chi-sep-19-1926-DW-LOC.pdf#page=2
