Gabriella Oropesa

Gabriella Victoria Oropesa, also known as Gabs, Gaby, and Gummy, was the only one of four Florida abortion-rights activists in this case to go to trial. A federal jury convicted her on December 19, 2024 of conspiracy against rights for helping plan a series of 2022 nighttime vandalism actions at three crisis-pregnancy centers after the Dobbs decision. The court sentenced her to 120 days in prison followed by three years of supervised release. The Eleventh Circuit affirmed the conviction on November 20, 2025, holding that prosecutors could use 18 U.S.C. § 241 for a conspiracy to violate rights secured by the FACE Act.

The Eleventh Circuit’s November 20, 2025 opinion expressly distinguishes her charge from those of her co-defendants: she was convicted of conspiracy against rights under 18 U.S.C. § 241 and was not charged with the substantive FACE Act offenses. The 120-day term and three years of supervised release are the sentence imposed. This appellate opinion does not establish her physical reporting or discharge dates.
